About Us

All Are Welcome

Big, loud cruisers.
Comfy quiet tourers.
Screaming sport bikes.
Tall, knobby-tire offroad machines.

We don't care what (or even "if") you ride. Its about motorcycle awareness, education, and training.

Family Friendly

Our chapter makes an extra effort to be family-friendly. We've got kids and jobs and all that good stuff, just like you do.

Bring the kids! They are our next generation of riders.

(If an event is 18+ or 21+ for some reason, you will know well in advance.)

We Are Not A "Club"

We love our brothers and sisters who are in clubs, but that's not what we are.

We are not an MC or an RC, but we have plenty of members who are (after all, "all are welcome").

What is A.B.A.T.E.?

American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education (A.B.A.T.E.) of Minnesota is a not for profit, grass roots organization that is committed to educating motorcyclists and the general public about motorcycling.

ABATE seeks to promote the positive aspects of motorcycling and strives to protect the rights of motorcyclists by being involved in the local, state and national political process.

Safer motorcycling, reducing accidents and fatalities can be best accomplished by education and training of both the motorcyclists and the general public not necessarily through additional legislation.

What is "Sand Dunes"?

A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota comprises 26 regional chapters. The Sand Dunes chapter is based in the Big Lake area of central Minnesota.

In early 2020, the chapter was relaunched with new leadership and new energy after experiencing a period of dormancy. We are currently rebuilding and looking forward to a bright future filled with activism and activities.
